Setup

A PS5 setup you understand

Get the account, household and saved progress in the right places. A clean arrangement makes every later download and first session simpler.

One console, several players?

Keep ownership and playing profiles distinct. Console sharing can provide access without mixing saved progress.

Moving to another PS5?

Verify the newest saved-data copy before retiring the old console. A library licence is not a save backup.

Keep access and progress separate

The account that buys or redeems a game owns its licence. The profile that plays keeps its own saved progress. Those two jobs can belong to different people on a shared console. Check both before changing a download or retiring another PS5.

For a console move, open the old console first and verify the latest saved-data copy. A game appearing in your library proves access to its installation; it does not prove that yesterday’s progress has followed you.

Give the next person a usable handover

Agree which profile to use, which account owns the purchase and where the console’s shared-access setting belongs. A short note beside the console saves another player from starting in the wrong profile.

Keep account credentials out of the launch desk. Record a practical action such as “check the owning account library” or “verify the newest save” so the sheet remains useful without carrying private account details.

Keep the details clear

Keep the check with your console.

Use your saved sheet as a second screen. Mark the completed checks and leave yourself an action you can follow.
